India’s Responses to Cyber Threats

This CSDR roundtable addressees the following questions:

What are the broad existing challenges to India’s cyber policy from hostile states? Is there a clearly defined strategy for dealing with state-sponsored cyberattacks?
Do we have in place a fall-back plan in the event that critical infrastructure is affected by cyber-attacks from outside the borders?

What is the role of the private sector in offering solutions to these challenges? Has its potential been studied and considered? Does India have arrangements and cooperation with friendly states in the cyber domain?

Do we have a structure laid out for intelligence communication pertaining to cyber threats? Is there a need to change methods and ways for such communication?
What kind of laws can be initiated to make the reporting of data breaches and cyber incidents, legally binding? How can they be implemented effectively?
