Space Technologies and Policy

The Space Technologies and Policy Program conducts extensive research across various subjects in the field, including satellite communication and navigation systems, launch vehicle technology, remote sensing and earth observation, space exploration, and space debris management.

The Space Technologies and Policy Program at CSDR examines the complex relationship between technological advancements in the space industry and the policy decisions made by the Indian government. It provides valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with developing and applying space technologies in India, thereby shaping policy discussions related to space matters. 

The program conducts extensive research across various subjects in the field, including satellite communication and navigation systems, launch vehicle technology, remote sensing and earth observation, space exploration, and space debris management. 

The program engages with government, industry, academia, and civil society stakeholders to ensure diverse perspectives inform our insights into space technologies and policy in India. Along with research, the program organizes networking events, workshops, seminars, and other events to disseminate its findings and encourage informed policy conversations. 

The program is driven by its goals to provide evidence-based recommendations to guide Indian policymakers in making informed decisions on space-related matters, establish India as a prominent player in the global space industry and contribute to developing a sustainable and secure space ecosystem in the country.
