As an intersectional feminist with over a decade of dedicated experience, Garima has delved deeply into issues of gender and development, particularly focusing on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Safe abortion, and Social Justice. Her academic journey is anchored by an M.A. in Gender and Development from the International Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, and an MPhil in Political Science from the Centre for Political Studies, JNU. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Uppsala University’s Centre for Gender Research, and her research revolves around understanding Digitally Mediated Information Seeking Practices for Self-Managed Abortions. Previously, as a Programme Manager at the Asia Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women (ARROW) Kuala Lumpur, she led regional collaborations and forged strategic alliances, driving impactful research projects and co-authoring influential SDG+5 monitoring briefs. In addition to her leadership in regional programs, she has been deeply engaged in advocating for marginalized communities and amplifying their voices. Through her academic training, she has honed her expertise in qualitative research and feminist research methodologies, equipping her to navigate the intricacies of gender equality and social justice issues and effect positive change in the Global South.
