Dr. Jabin Jacob

Dr. Jacob, an Associate Professor with a Ph.D. in Chinese Studies, has extensive experience in Asia’s geopolitics, with notable publications and contributions to defense education.
“Dr Jacob is an Associate Professor at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Shiv Nadar University, India. He earned his PhD in 2008 from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He was formerly Fellow and Assistant Director at the Institute of Chinese Studies, Delhi, and Associate Editor of the journal China Report. Jacob holds a Ph.D. in Chinese Studies from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and has spent time as a student/researcher/faculty member in Taiwan, France, and Singapore. He has traveled to many of India’s border states and visited parts of the country’s disputed borders with China and Pakistan and the international borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh. He is a Ph.D. supervisor at the Naval War College, Goa, and a regular speaker at various other Indian defense training institutions. Jacob’s latest publications included two co-edited special issues for the China Report journal on the Communist Party of China’s 100th anniversary (February and August 2022) and co-edited volumes titled, How China Engages South Asia: Themes, Partners and Tools (2023) and China’s Search for ‘National Rejuvenation’: Domestic and Foreign Policies under Xi Jinping (2020).
